Byla to takov\u00e1 tich\u00e1, \u010dist\u011b akustick\u00e1 verze, p\u0159esn\u011b v n\u00e1lad\u011b tehdej\u0161\u00edho folk revivalu. Jen\u017ee album prakticky propadlo. Prodalo se asi asi jen 2 000 kus\u016f, co\u017e u velk\u00e9 firmy nebylo nic, na \u010dem by se dalo stav\u011bt. Duo se tedy roze\u0161lo. Paul Simon odjel do Anglie, kde vystupoval po klubech jako s\u00f3lista, Art Garfunkel se vr\u00e1til ke studiu na Columbia University, uvedl Songfacts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">U Columbia Records si ale pozd\u011bji v\u0161imli zvl\u00e1\u0161tn\u00ed v\u011bci. V roce 1965 za\u010dala p\u016fvodn\u00ed akustick\u00e1 nahr\u00e1vka samovoln\u011b pronikat do vys\u00edl\u00e1n\u00ed n\u011bkter\u00fdch r\u00e1di\u00ed v Bostonu a na Florid\u011b. Bez kampan\u011b, bez velk\u00e9ho tla\u010den\u00ed ze strany vydavatelstv\u00ed. Producent Tom Wilson, kter\u00fd m\u011bl za sebou mimo jin\u00e9 pr\u00e1ci s Bobem Dylanem, v tom uc\u00edtil p\u0159\u00edle\u017eitost. P\u0159es hotovou nahr\u00e1vku nechal doto\u010dit elektrick\u00e9 kytary, baskytaru a bic\u00ed. Na kytary hr\u00e1li Al Gorgoni a Vinnie Bell, baskytaru nahr\u00e1l Bob Bushnell, za bic\u00ed usedl Bobby Gregg. V\u00fdsledkem u\u017e nebyla k\u0159ehk\u00e1 folkov\u00e1 skladba, ale mnohem tvrd\u0161\u00ed, rytmicky pevn\u011bj\u0161\u00ed nahr\u00e1vka na hran\u011b folk rocku.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Simon &amp; Garfunkel v t\u00e9 dob\u011b jako funguj\u00edc\u00ed dvojice vlastn\u011b neexistovali. Columbia Records proto z\u0159ejm\u011b ne\u0159e\u0161ila, jestli je nutn\u00e9 se jich pt\u00e1t. Upravenou verzi vydala jako singl v z\u00e1\u0159\u00ed 1965. Simon byl v Anglii, Garfunkel na koleji, oba mimo rozhodov\u00e1n\u00ed.
